Why Volunteer?
Every volunteer takes something unique away from their experience at Mary House. Regardless of what reason motivates each volunteer to come work at Mary House or what each takes away from their experience we hope they take a certain happiness with them. Because through our actions helping those who need it the very most we are making the entire world a better place, one small step at a time.Â
There are a number of ways you can help
- Working in the Meal Kitchen preparing and serving food at the weekly dinner.
- Getting involved in our mentoring program to help teach basic skills as well as provide mental and spiritual support.
- Picking up donations
- Administrative and office assistance
- Facilitating an activity or event
- Organizing a food drive in your own community
We would also like to encourage potential volunteers to carefully consider their own unique skills and how they can be applied to help Mary House. Because even though it is just as important to wield soup ladles and cooking trays it is just as important to spread awareness and get people talking about the bigger issues.
Group Volunteering
- We encourage local businesses to get their employees involved at Mary House.
- Churches, schools, or other organizations are welcomed to bring everyone to come gain some experience volunteering at Mary House.
Individuals fulfilling requirements for community service for school,church or the court system may complete their requirements at Mary house
